BREAKING NEWS!!!

Dinosaurs have been spotted at the Doty's House.

Come and Explore with Gage for his 4th Birthday!

Gage decided this year he wanted a Dinosaur Birthday party and I had a lot of fun planning for it. It was all worth it to see how excited Gager was. He asked me about every 10 minutes when his friends were going to come and when the doorbell FINALLY rang he went crazy screaming and jumping.

Four of his closest friends were able to come, and it was the perfect amount. They had a blast

decorating dino masks:

hatching dino eggs:

Erupt a Volcano:

EAT!! (while roaring like a dinosaur):

Pin the horn on the triceratops:

Make a wish, eat a cupcake:

Don't wake the dino:

Don't forget the Pinata:homemade (can't you tell) I actually liked it better than the store bought kind because the kids were actually able to break it themselve.

Presents: building dinos, nerf gun, cars, car track, spy kit=excited kid

the dino bunch:

Well the party was a success based on Gage's excitement. Gage you are getting so big, I can't believe it was four years ago on Labor day that you blessed our family. You add so much to our home and we are so glad you were sent to us. You are my little cuddle bug and such a great kid! We love you and hope you had a special day because you are a very special boy.

Talking Goose!

One of the kids favorite things to do is feed the duck down by the snake river. So today I decided to get rid of my stash I have been saving of crusty bread. We found a large group of duck and geese and even Violet had to get into the action (with every thrust of her arm I had to hold her back so she wouldn't fall in, It was so cute!) Gage wasn't so sure about feeding the geese, but eventually he conquered his fear and took over the bread bag. Last winter the kids and I went to the same river area and the duck and geese must have been very hungery. The minute the geese saw we had bread they were trying to peck it out of our hands, it was very interesting and quite entertaining. That is Gagers good reason of keeping his distance from the geese.
Gage eventually warmed up to a particular goose and If I could of understood it I would had believed it was actually talking to Gage. It perched itself right in front of Gage only two feet away and started quitely honking, I told Gage it was talking to him so he honked back at it.

When we were walking back to the car I asked Gage, "What do you think the goose was saying to you?" Gage replied, " It said want to play in the water." Not knowing Violet was listening (or understanding) our conversation she replied, "Hello to me, Hello to me" I asked her, "Did the goose say hello to you?" She replied, "yes."

I love spending time with my kids and watching them learn and experience things this world has to offer, especially the outdoors, being with them and the outdoors soaking it all in is trully the best.

Caught You!

Gage got a hold of some of Dad's string today and instead of him dragging it around the whole neighborhood I helped them to use it constructively. They thought a spider web sounded cool and they pretended they were caught in it. All in all it kept them occupied for quite some time.

They say it's my Birthday!

Well today I am one year older, I am now 26.
Thanks to my family I had a GREAT day! I
actually celebrated it yesterday since Jordan had the day
off work and he spoiled me. I got the whole morning to
myself, which was a nice change. Jordan took Maicey to
school, did some shopping with the kids, and picked Maicey
up. He grilled a great dinner and even made me brownies (I am
not a big fan of cake.) Jordan hasn't always been a
big fan of birthdays but I guess almost 8 years of me hounding
him paid off. He did all of it on his own instead of me
planning my own party. Thanks to my sweetie I had a special day!

School Starts!

Well I can't believe it but Maicey just started her first day of Kindergarten today! I chose to put her in PM so we could take our time in the morning. Maicey has been so excited to start school and she is ready! She wanted to walk to school this morning (kindergarteners get buses on the fourth day of school ). The school is only up the street from our house but there is no crosswalk to get across a pretty busy street so I am kind of excited about her being able to ride the bus. Plus the fact that riding the school bus was the highlight of kindergarten for Maice. Here is a picture of her in her stylin clothes she picked out the night before, way to go Maicey! Gage and Maicey are the best of buds and it was so cute when we got home from dropping Maicey off because Gage announced, "I miss Maicey"

Gardening 101!

This Summer Jord and I decided we would take advantage of some of our yard space and plant a garden. I somehow killed most every house plant we owned so I didn't have high expectations. Imagine my surprise when things started to grow.

Maicey came in screaming that the watermelon had
grown really big (I swear it was overnight) and there are a
few more coming up.
I think Maicey has had the most fun with the
garden, it is so cute watching her pull parts of the lettuce off or the
peas and munch on it. We also have some zucchini, cucumbers, and
tomatoes that look like they will survive. Anyway we have had a lot
of fun with it and next year I will definitely know some better technique's.

--Happy Birthday Violet--

Okay so Violet isn't officially two until tomorrow but since dad had Sunday off we decided it would work great! We did family dinner with Jordan's brother Chad (who is down visiting for a while), cake and ice cream, and a present (which was a baby that cries and says mama). Vi Vi loves babies and whenever she hears a baby crying she has to let you know in a concerned voice "baby's cying." Violet is growing up way too fast, she is our spunky girl who will put you in your place if you cross her, but such a love bug especially to mommy.

Things Vivi loves:
-her binky (she is so attached)
-baby's
-the mole on my neck (kinda wierd and gross but
she rubs and picks at it ALL the time.)
-Kinley (our next door neighbor little girl who she
loves to play with. The minute she wakes up she
is looking out the window for her.)
-Of course Gage and Sissy (she loves to play and
tease them every chanceshe gets.

Vivi says:

-Violet's vocabulary has really broadened these last few
months and shesays most everything she needs.

-My favorite is the way she adds e to the end of some
words (just like Maicey did) like:
*Moree (for more)
*Yogee (yogurt)
*Strollee (stroller)
*Wagee (wagon)

*The other day the kids were playing on our bench swing
and she told Maicey and Gage, "No Chaos" She surprised
us all.*

So Cute! We just love our Vi and the excitement she adds to our family.

Fishing With Grandpa and Grandma Doty

Guy and Julie were able to spend a couple nights at our house after Jordan's graduation and we had a good time. We all went fishing out at the Palisades but had no luck. Somehow I even managed to cast on a power poll that was right above the river, quite hilarious. We were hoping Maicey and Gage would be able to help reel a fish in because we had gone fishing a few times this summer and haven't had any luck so they were very anxious. So we decided to give it another shot at a pond that flows into the snake river. Jordan had some luck here in the past so we waited. We waited and waited (fishing takes patience, right?) Finally the timing was right and Jordan got a fish on his pole. Maicey hurried over and helped dad reel in the fish, the kids were so excited and wanted to touch and examine the fish. Maicey named her fish fernail as dad tied it to a rope and in the water. Soon after Gage was able to reel in another 16 incher and "fighter" joined fernail on the rope. When we got home dad cooked up fighter and fernail and Maicey grubbed (she loves fish!) Gage had fallen asleep and the next morning when he woke up he came downstairs wanting to eat fighter. He was told the fish were all gone so he came over to me and said with tears in his eyes, "But mom, I feel like eating fighter for breakfast." Next time I will be sure to save him a bite.

Jordan's Big Day!!

Yay! Jordan Graduated from Idaho Department of Corrections this last weekend and boy is it nice to have him home. His training was in Meridian, which is close by Boise and he was gone a total of 4 weeks. The first weekend he traveled home but didn't get as much studying done that he wanted to so he decided it was best to stay there and focus. Jordan worked hard, did great, and met some friends along the way. We love it here in Idaho and feel content now with a secure job that Jord enjoys. The kids were extra excited to see their dad and Gage kept starring at his badge, he thought it was the coolest thing ever. Maicey missed cuddling with dad and would jump on his lap every chance she got. Violet didn't know what to do, she just kept showing off trying to make everyone laugh and made dad work for her attention and love. We really enjoyed having our parents there to show support and Jordan got to see his brothers whom he hadn't seen for quite a while.
